CNN reports a shocker: suburbs are swinging toward Obama in key red states!
In Colorado and Indiana, now are leaning Obama, due to the burbs. The state of Washington is solid Obama, Florida a toss-up, Obama up by +4. I am no longer a spec of blue in my red burb- the economy, foreclosures trump the Repug mantra of low taxes.
I don’t want to jinx it by doing the happy dance before Tuesday night, so I’m humming a happy song in my head…

Finally, its my turn. š Joe Biden will be in my neighborhood tomorrow and I’ll be taking my oldest son plus a fraternity brother.
On monday, my youngest son was attending college 2 blocks from the Pittsburgh Obama rally (he voted by absentee ballot for Obama last week) but declined to attend because of a microbiology class. There was an angel on my one shoulder telling me that he made the correct decision and a devil on my other shoulder telling me that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I’m proud that he made the decision he did and will watch the infomercial tonight instead.
SMR- Yeah, I just tried it, too. Didn’t work. I guess I’ll wait until I get home- it might be blocked here because I’m at a school. I bet that’s the problem! Boo, I have to wait until tonight!
So many strange thoughts running around my head as the election gets closer.
1. Bush #1 spoke of a ākinder, gentler America. Maybe Obama can show him how to do it.
2. People think of the government as their enemy. Maybe Obama can change that.
3. Our government gives lip service to environmental concerns. Maybe Obama will be different.
4. There is despair in this country that is eating us alive. Maybe Obama has the prescription for that.
5. Progress to the future has been held back until the government found out how to allow corporations to make money off of it. Maybe Obama will lead us to progress.
6. We are hated around the world. Maybe Obama will change that.
7. There has been a āme firstā attitude in this country for years. Maybe Obama can make that āus first.ā
8. Our less fortunate citizens have been passed by for many years. Maybe Obama can see every citizen as equal.
9. Cost effective has been a buzz word for years and the disabled, injured veterans and those born with birth defects have suffered because it was not ācost effectiveā to help them. Maybe Obama will stop considering what is cost effective.
10. Our regulatory agencies are giving lip service to the law and people are dying because of it. Maybe Obama will make them do their job.

It was so cold that day, but it so worth being part of it. It was a hugely diverse crowd — white, black, Alaska Native, men as well as women, kids, dogs — & it was a lot of fun too. Great editing on the video, & great to see people from other parts of the state too — that brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for having this idea, & you did a great job editing the video too! Now time to pass it on to all my friends.

Is this part of the RNC’s end game strategy to commit voter fraud by busing 14- and 15- year old children of right-wingers to the polls on Election Day to do a little shoulder-tapping in the attempt to get some adult’s legit voter card and commit voter fraud? Sounds like an evil political adaptation of that movie “Saved!”

No, it’s actually considered a form of demonic possession, so the courts won’t touch it. You need an exorcist. I don’t know who to recommend since Rev. Muthee is clearly engaged elsewhere… But come to think of it, he’s part of the problem, too. I guess you’ll just have to wait for it to pass on Nov. 5th, you’ll have to cope with knowing that you’re a campaign veteran and veterans will definitely get treated better under an Obama administration.

As someone living in Wyoming, the least populous state in the Union, it heartens me to see another small population state turnout so many Obama supporters.
It helps me feel better about our tiny turnout last Friday in Sheridan. We had about 30 people there. I guess the other 270 supporters were afraid to come out because the rethugs in our town are getting so nasty. sigh.
I’ll be SO glad when the 5th rolls around and this is done. Glad to see the dingbat return to Alaska where you all can hopefully hand her her hat.

My husband is in Raleigh on business and he just told me he went to the Obama rally there today!
He said there were 28,000 people but he was lucky enough to be pretty close to the stage. And it was awesome.

My understanding is that he came back to AK in the spring of his senior year after getting injured playing hockey at the Michigan or Wisconsin hockey high school he went to for one or two years and then graduated with his class from Wasilla High School. This video made me cry or joy.
I just got home from doing my 3 hrs of volunteering at the Demo Office, calling to remind people to vote on Tuesday. It was so much fun, and I enjoyed all the other volunteers. I am a bit hearing and sight challenged so being in a room full of people all talking at once, while fun and exciting did give me more of a challenge than I expected. What to do? What to do? I talked the leadman into letting me talk the program home so I can call from the quite of my own little office, with my big wide flat screen and my hearing enhanced phone. So, if any of you Mudpuppies are in ID you may be hearing from me in the next 5 days. I’ll just be asking if you are going to vote, if you know where your polling place is, and if you need a ride to the polls.

We went to hear Obama speak at a rally in Sarasota, Florida today! Over 20,000 people there! It took 1 1/2 hours to get into the stadium, the streets were blocked off, lines were doubling back and forth up and down the road and through the parking lots. The place was filled to capacity. Campaign workers made statements like, I thought this was a really “red” area; we were pleasantly shocked to see so many people there! My daughter loved it and cheered with the crowd and we were so thrilled to see him on stage. I have pictures and video, but I do not know how to upload them here. I would love to share as soon as I can so any advice would be great.
I also just spent 2 hours carving pumpkins; I did mine with Obama’s face and HOPE on it. I can’t wait to light it up. What a beautiful day, very positive and the experience of a lifetime. š š š

Matt, Thank you for telling us what the music is. I really like it.
First, I was born in Anchorage 6 months to the day that it became a state. We moved a year later and I have never been back. As a kid, I would study interesting facts about Alaska because Anchorage was such a far off place to the Midwest. I was very proud to be different than all the other kids. Funny, those silly little stories fade away as you get older, but when Palin was picked for the GOP VP my ears perked up. I’m sure Sarah is a nice person, but to lead the country that I volunteered to serve, I have never felt that she has ever spoken to me as a citizen of the USA.
But I must say that after watching the human logo video, there are a lot of proud people in Alaska. People that want nothing more than to be heard and show their love of country as well. I applaud you for your inspirational dedication in not just saying what an American is, but showing what an American is. It has made a middle-age distant native feel pretty good. Thanks for that! Good luck to all of you.
