Obama is doing his best…after all, he sent no less than 30 people to gather dirt on Gov. Palin…I am not surprised by this because Obama will do anything to get elected. Obama still has less experience than Gov. Palin, that is a fact. Obama has had and has lots of shady friends. Obama attended a church for 20 years where GD America was part of the sermons..Obama is a socialist, that is a fact. Obama is directly funded by Geo. Soros. that is a fact. Ayers is his friend that is a fact. The DNC SELECTED Obama, he certainly was not elected by the rules that were suppose to apply. Obama’s supporters consistantly use strong arm tactics and there is investigations going on about wide spread FRAUD in the primaries. NO OBAMA!!! NEVER!!

Neither conservative; nor liberals have a lock on good ideas. Both sides have and will continue to contribute to a meaningful discussion that will move our country forward. Marg your comments are WRONG. First get your facts straight. Then think about the issues. Then try and contribute something intelligent. The are four clearly factually errors in your statement and at least 3 misleading statements. Luckily this country protects the right of anyone to talk; but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive for better than thoughtless chatter.

Marg seems to overlook McCain’s drug addicted wife, the fact that he was so incompetent that he got captured by our enemies, that he sold us out while he was held “prisoner”. Or the Keating 5 scandal. I mean the list goes on and on. I guess I could delve into the failed Bush regime and how it’s ruined our nation and made us the laughing stock of the world. But with today’s republicans, they they hit rock bottom, then whine and plead for a shovel to dig deeper into the pit to nowhere. That shovel is McPain/Failin. The pit to nowhere is the GOP platform. Quit voting against your own interests! We already have proof of what republican rule has brought us. You repub’s are being used in this manufactured culture war of Karl Rove’s. To you people it’s all about god and abortion. Got news for you, it’s the least of your troubles. Wake up, ok?

And for the Anti-Falin protestors…you are the very definition of TRUE Americans! Reject fascism in lipstick! Reject oil tyrants in a mini-skirt! Reject liars and backwards fanaticism! Fight for your rights or LOSE them to these anti-american buffoons! The world supports you!

Unforttunately, the McCains, the Bushes, the Palins are smirking and laughing atus. All of us. Poor or middle class. Black and White. Rural, small town values and urban dwellers. They are laughing at us. They feed us little sound-bites “we’ll drill our way to energy independence” when they intend no such thing. They intend to drill so that Exxon executives can pull another bonus! There’s no guarantee that drilled US oil would be fed into US markets. There’s a stupid, pointless war in Iraq. For what? meanwhile we’ve losts o much of New orleans, we’ve lost a bridge in Minnesota. On Friday in Los Angeles there was a god-awful train wreck that could have been caused by inadequate equipment. We need investment here in our roads, our trains, our healthcare, our clinics, our hospitals, our people. There are lots of smart kids allover this country, who deserve to get as much a education as they want.
Electing McCain and “what’s her name” really do mean a continuation of policies that are not good for anyone except the super, ultra rich. Think Southfork. All the rest of us can go to hell.
Thank you for your time.

Young Feminists unite ! do you really like what is being called American Politics ? Charge yourselves with doing lots of work to understand and promulgate the Social, Political and Economic issues and promote an educated stance on what is really at stake — THIS strikes me as IMPERATIVE FROM ONE FORMER TORCH BEARER concerned that women and girls receive equal treatment from this government, NOW !!!

Hey, Marg, are you a sock puppet? Your email uses a bunch of stock phrases and it doesn’t seem to actually have anything to do the the Reject Palin rally.

Congratulations to all the gutsy women and men who showed up at the rally! We in the Lower 48 are paying attention.

Palin’s record speaks for itself. She is deliberately ignorant (global warming is not a problem, the polar bear is not endangered, etc.), undereducated and underqualified to even be governor. She hires her friends for jobs they are also not qualified to hold and fires anyone she doesn’t like or who doesn’t see things her way. Like most politicians she is an outrageous hypocrite. Her family belongs on the Jerry Springer Show, not in Washington DC.
Let’s focus on solving the problems our country faces (Palin is not one of them, yet anyway).
By the way, snowmobiling is NOT a sport; it’s a waste of gas.

It is unfortunate that one can place “that is a fact” at the end of a sentence and honestly think that people will believe it.
Palin is drawing our attention away from where it should be. Our attention should be focused on how beneficial for the country is McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden. She has turned it into a circus sideshow. This presidential race should not be about color or gender. Making lame jokes about lipstick aren’t helping her as a woman, in any case. This presidential race is about choosing the best leader, the best team for our country. While sexism is still around, it’s not what a woman should focus on, especially when she wants to be a valid running-mate. She should focus on being aware of the issues and the platform.

I’m voting for the team that is the obvious choice to me. Obama/Biden.

I commend the women in Alaska for speaking out. I wasn’t voting for McSame anyway, but I was offended that he chose a woman (unqualified to say the least) as his running mate to try to lure women into voting for him. The EVILgelicals LOVE her and it’s so typical of the far-right conservatives to be hateful and mean-spirited if anyone dares to speak out against them, such as the counter-protestors at the rally. Open your eyes people – can’t you see the incredible mess that has been made by the Republicans and their minions? It’s appalling, to say the least. I really don’t think that anyone can make a difference as President after this MESS that Bush and his corrupt administration have created, but isn’t it about time we got someone who will at least TRY? McCain and Palin are more the same….but you die-hard conservatives are too blinded by your hatred of Obama to see that. It’s funny that just four years ago, when McCain was running against Bush, he was being denigrated by the same people who are now touting him as their new hero. By the way, Marg, if there’s no dirt to be found, then what are you worried about? It’s proven that Palin is a liar on so many issues. Also, Democrat doesn’t have an ‘e’ on the end of it, last time I checked.

That’s me in the photo. The rally was a great experience. How wonderful to see women of all ages come together to support a movement (this is a movement, not just an election), with others of like mind. I know so many women and men in Alaska who believe the VP candidate is a nice person, an okay governor, but NOT fit to lead this nation of Kennedy, Roosevelt, Jefferson. My thanks to all the press, for the coverage.

It’s people like you that make this country strong. I’m in CA and you seem like my sister. I am so glad to see there are Alaskan women who are progressive thinkers and not afraid to speak their minds. Could you imagine taking away women’s right to choose? I think that is positively medieval. Palin seems like the empty vessel the Republicans were looking for – so they can tell her what to think and she will go along because she is so desperate to please. It’s sad and scary. Stay strong.

What is wrong with all you women? Do you want higher taxes, unsecured borders, socialist government that leaves freedom out of the total picture? Then vote for Nobama. This country is a republic. It stands for freedom, justice, fairness to all. Nobama represents and reflects his socialist/communist background. Why don’t you people read documents that prove this, and not just listen to the biased liberal mainstream media? Women finally have a chance to be represented in Washington with a normal woman…not an elitist Washington type “gold-digger”. Mrs. Obama is one of the most unhappiest women I’ve seen. Poor HIlary…she never stood a chance against someone that has been taught such hatred in life. Our country does not need hatred or socialism or government interfering in our lives. Neither does our country need to give more of the wage-earners’ taxes to the “unfortunate”. Let them go out and work for a living. Limit welfare, and maybe we will see the reform and change you all scream about.
Let’s change our immigration system to make sure that all of those people are paying taxes here! and not sending free money back to their countries. We spend 400 billion dollars of OUR tax money per year supporting people who do NOT support our country. I’m tired of working for them and others who do not give back to America. As always, I am willing to help those who help themselves. But if all they want to do is TAKE, then I say, we QUIT giving!
Wake up women of America! Palin brings back morals and standards that you all should live by and appreciate. It is what this country was founded upon. Are you so liberal that social morals and rules are out the window?
By the way, did you all know that Congress makes the laws? Duh! The President does not. So you can all quit hating Bush for no reason.
Thank you!

uhm… “quit hating Bush for no reason”?

I just checked the calendar and its not April 1st, so you’re just foolin’ yourself.

Just give a gander at this:

1. National debt under Bush Jr. has increased so drastically that the average
American’s estimated share of the national debt will be an astronomical $24,00 compared to $500 when Dubya first took office.

2. Under Bush Jr. there are now 43 million Americans with no health insurance

3. Responsible for an unemployment rate of 6%. There are now 9 million people out of work in America-3.3 million more than when Bush took office.

4. He cut health care benefits for veterans.

5. Bush Jr. Deserted his unit during Vietnam and was reportedly AWOL for over a year from his assigned unit: The Texas Air National Guard, or as its referred to by other military outfits, “The Champagne Division”.

6. Despite a 13% unemployment rate among those aged 16-24, Bush Jr. Proposed to eliminate youth opportunity grants- a program that provides job training to the nation’s youth. A $225M program in 2002 is now being done away with so Bush can have more money for Iraq.

7. He cut funding for 375,000 low income college students and reduced PELL grant amounts to such a severe degree that it effectively caused 84,000 students to no longer be eligible for PELL grants. PELL amounts have been overall reduced for 1.5 million students… its safe to say that the Bush daughters weren’t eligible for financial aid, so this didn’t affect the opulent lives of anyone Bush Jr. may know.

8. Withdrew from the international criminal court.

9. First president in U.S history to refuse United Nations election inspectors
(during the US 2002 elections.)

10. All-time U.S. (and world) record holder for most corporate campaign
donations.

So thank you, Debra, but I’ll choose to hate Bush for PLENTY of reasons. He’s systematically destroyed not only our country’s economy, our Superpower and United image with the world, but our own nation’s faith. He stole the election in 2000 from the most qualified candidate. He bumbled back in 2004 because the war was in full bloom and so many of our country’s good, strong men and women were over there fighting blindly for Truth, Justice and the American Way. Now, you want to let John McSame and Sarah Failin come in to do even more damage?

Shame on you.
Don’t you have a Bible to thump or some books to go lobby to ban from your local library?
Bet you don’t have any children, because any sane parent wouldn’t think the way you do.

First off, ALASKAN WOMEN RULE and Sandi, You’re the GREATEST!! I love you people and support you 100% for being the intelligent, patriotic, and couragous people you are. Everyone who attended this rally is to be applauded for seeing through the lipstick. You know, I sat down and wrote nine paragrahs of rebutals to blinded people like Marg and Debra, but in the end, I just feel sorry for them. Truly sorry because I understand that they’re blinded by so much B.S. that in the end, it’s not they’re fault. They choose to be cattle with blinders and that’s an American epidemic. It’s easier to stick with issues of race, social reform (or lack of it) and blind following of individuals who’s interest aren’t in like with what is best for the american public, but what’s it going to look like for them if they don’t assist the commonwealth in our country. Everyday I watch more companies close their doors to ship jobs overseas and see unemployment rise to staggering levels. Debra, you’re right, congress does make the laws. Unfortunately, during Pres. Bushes first term, congress was controled primarily by the republican party. I won’t get into a fact swapping issue with anyone, but all I know is it is now 2008 and as the year nears it end, our country is in the worse shape it has been since 1930. Leadership can’t be guess work. Will Obama make as good a leader, I don’t have any idea. What I do know is that I’m not going to follow a man who is proud that has voted over 90% of the time in favor of our current presidents policies and approves of the direction that our nation is going. In the end, most don’t care if it’s J.R. Ewing or Sponge Bob running for president right now because our current president is nothing but good Saturday Night Live material. That’s about the only thing this guy has truly contributed to the american public over the last eight years. SNL doesn’t need anymore material. We need a leader who takes responsibility and good people to help him make the right choices. Pres.McCain and Gov. Palin. I’m just joe average from CO, but that’s what I think.

Debra, would you feel the same about McJerk if you knew the story about his return home after his capture. Do you know about his first wife and children? No one talks about that. His first wife was seriously injured in a car accident and have permanent injuries. McJerk could not accept her appearance and starting fooling around with his now fake looking wife who say nothing and look to McJerk to tell her when to wave. McJerk is a low down dirty player. Why can’t everyone see he was mentally damaged when he returned and now. The man is not playing with a full deck. Are so ignore that you are wlling to vote for him because he choose a air head women, that say a lot about you. You don’t have a clue. So swirl some of that air around in your head so you can see clearly, are you full of air? get on board. OBAMA 2008

As a 72 year old I can say this..even if McCain were the right man for job, he is NOT, 72 is too old to be president!! We get tired faster, aren’t quite as sharp as wish, etc. I worked as a nurse until almost 71 years of age & the long hours are exhausting..no matter how good your health is. I am ashamed Sen McCain choose Gov Palin. I consider it an insult to my intelligence that he’d actually think a Hillary Women would be for gov palin. They are poles apart on all my beliefs. We’re smarter than this. I trust no Democratic women is so foolish they’d vote for McCain/Palin ticket. Yes, I wanted a women in White House in my lifetime, but I’ll take a good man any day over a lousy women..a bubble head as far as I am concerned. Go Obama & Biden.
Does anyone else find it strange that Rep ticket is for less government intrusion into our lifes but wanted to overturn Roe vs Wade. How much more intrusive can it get than coming into people’s bedrooms making such a personal decision for them ?? No matter what your feelings are on abortion.

McCain graduaed 894 of 899 graduates. His comments last week prove it.
Wants votes. Stole Obama’s idea of change. Lies! Palin & Shadow Governor Todd are one heartattack away from White House. Heaven help us!

Obama in top of his Harvard class. Originated idea of change in Washington. I’m a Hillary woman voting Obama. We have a chance with him! Democrats left our economy great, friends in the world & better enviironment. We need that back! Obama ’08!!!

Sarah Palin would do for women what Clarence Thomas has done for African-Americans and what Alberto Gonzalez did for Hispanics. Please, if you care, fight for Obama/Biden.

Someone emailed this article to me and I am so appreciative of the Alaskan women (and men) who attended the anti-Palin rally. I had no idea that Alaska wasn’t a vast wasteland as far as Dems go. (I’ve a GOP sister living there and thought perhaps most think as she does!?) Thanks for proving me wrong.
It is really sad to think that there are SOoooo many women already in public office who won’t ever have a shot at the top job (or vp job) who are far more intelligent and qualified for the position than your current Gov. Palin.
When Obama wins, what will she do for an encore? Surely not continue in her current position for another term? She has a far more important job to do right in her own home.
Again, thanks for the reassurance that there are Alaskans who truly understand. Beautiful state, by the way. Keep it that way. 😉
