I would prefer to buy a calendar of the Alaskan wildlife – Brian the moose, for example, makes a great picture. I try not to throw the word hate around too much, especially in reference to people that I don’t know. However, I truly hate SP.

This is just another example of Palin’s overrated sense of herself. The media has certainly contributed to creating this image, but she seems to have really bought into it. But, it’s one thing to promote herself in this way and another if she will be financially benefiting from this venture. Since the photographer is her “life-long friend,” it’s safe to assume that Palin has given permission for the use of the photos of herself and her family. It’s not likely she gave permission without being compensated for their use or a part of the proceeds. If this isn’t a conflict of interest or improper use of her office, it should be.

and BTW, I don’t think this can be done without her express consent as she “owns” her image… so, is she getting $$$$ for this??? If so, is she allowed to earn this in addition to her Governor pay? No fair! Where do they get those cool clothes? My dolls don’t have the right outfits. I only have one black dress for my sp doll, and I had to draw on her glasses. I certainly can’t sew them (I hem clothes with masking tape). Now I’m grumpy because there’s no way I can make authentic sp scenes without the proper wardrobe and accessories.
We need the kind of calendar that you peel off the previous day and throw it away. You know, those little stacked paper calendars for your desktop. Each day you can crumple up something sarah and pitch it in the trash.
Don’t all “wall” calendars have a predrilled hole for hanging and come wrapped in cellophane? I paid $12.95 for my 2009 Audubon Songbirds calendar. The woman and her “friends” are beneath contempt.

The way I see it….that’s four years of photographs for a calendar year……way too many pictures of this all American family for me. I too would love a “palinism a day” calendar that I could crumple up and trash after enjoying a hearty laugh. Perhaps it could include such things as the anniversary of the Couric interview or the day Michelle Bachmann uttered her “unAmerican” critique. I’m far less interested in seeing her face than I am the things she mangled — turkeys, law enforcement officials, an empty governor’s mansion, red shoes, polar bears, moose, etc.
Seriously, though, I couldn’t help but note the absence of a line indicating that “all profits from the sale of this calendar will be donated to organizations working to eradicate birth defects.”
But then, that would involve things like accounting, philanthrophy, ethics, and charity — all things seriously lacking in this self-centered, self-absorbed, egomaniacial witch.
Good point about how the calendar proceeds COULD go to a good cause, but we all know they won’t.

I used to work in marketing and communications, as assistant to a woman who had dyslexia. One of my tasks was to proof-read everything she wrote.
I’ll just say this: Seeing ‘wrongness’ everyday… after a while, it gets to where it starts to look normal.
To include a pack of complimentary darts with each 12-month calendar, however, would definitely be a ‘reach across the aisle’. 😉

Yes, I agree that the photographer gets a quid pro quo in exchange for keeping her mouth shut, but given the way Palin comports herself, I have this nagging suspicion that some of the proceeds will find its way into Palin’s hands. Of course, there will be no paper trial for this under-the-table kick-back, but that tune is playing in the background. Also.

OT – but as a reminder that the wheels of justice although slow, very slow in some instances, eventually come to fruition. OJ Simpson just sentenced on a combination of concurrent and consecutive terms – from 6 years to 21 years.

For too long, OJ acted as if he was entitled to do what he wanted and when he wanted.

Andrew Sullivan wants someone to prove him wrong in questioning whether Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is actually the mother of her fifth child, Trig.
“Please make me look like an idiot for asking these questions,” he writes.
But despite a private meeting with the McCain campaign and interviews with eight of the leading obstetricians in the country, he still wonders whether “we have witnessed one of the biggest frauds in American political history and the biggest failures among the American media in a very, very long time.”
One of the things that bothers me the most about all the money that was spent on tarting up Sarah Palin is that much of that money came from us taxpayers. It makes me never want to check off that box on my tax return ever again.
And Ms. Palin has not given back her fancy duds. Huffington Post has pictures of her wearing the same jacket when she was on the campaign trail and then again when she campaigned for Chambliss. I guess the RNC lawyer never made it to Alaska or Ms. Sarah stashed some of her favorites where the lawyer couldn’t find them.

Makeup was actually $68,400 & hair stylist was actually $65,625, grand total of $134,025. What is a shame is that her hairdo looked like she did it herself anyway, nothing fancy. I read somewhere while she was campaigning there were also 4 nannies and a private nurse on that plane.

Everything that is “right” about Sarah Palin (according to Republicans) is exactly what is wrong about the current state of the GOP. Not posting as fast as my thoughts are going because thanks to Sarah I don’t want to be incoherent., smashing thoughts and sentences together (did everyone read Dick Cavett’s piece in NYT–wild wordsmith of wasilla, think it was called. hilarious) One more thing we can thank her for? increase in awareness of grammar, elocution!!! lol\\agree with Laura Jane re. dressing the doll….the Palin Barbie metaphor is so accurate. anyone. ANYONE can afford a Barbie doll, but then there’s the outfits and little shoes that Barbie has to have… Looks like the Republicans paid the highest price ever to outfit a “barbie”. and yes, as we all have been saying, the sheer audacity of how it all played out (can you really return “outfits” from the type of stores she shopped at after you’ve worn them for days or weeks?) and then there’s Michelle Obama not taking the bait and being gracious about Sarah’s clothes, and her (Michelle’s) own choices as in, mixing it up with Gap, JCrew, Chicago designers.
