Here I go analyzing again. There were 100,000 women that responded and wrote to the organizers. Admen will tell you that on a website such as this a 1% response is considered very good. That would indicate that 10,000,000 women that saw this website feel this way while most did not respond. This is a voting block that should not and can not be ignored. It is impossible to know how many women feel the same way but did not see the website.

She had her eye on the VP seat and gunning for it LONG before being chosen. Spinning, scheming and plotting. Blind and selfish ambition makes one stupid enough to through logic out the window and risk anything.
Remember, she really believes in her mind she is the God chosen one for this position. It’s a part of the evangelical prophecy thinking. Believe me they do think God has a plan for them.
I can’t even imagine the stories that will come out in time, the books to be written.
Another thought that may or may not come out but could be true….that Bristle was pregnant but when discovered went into rehab because of drug/alcohol abuse thus the mentally injured baby, where the baby may have actually been born?
I’m just guessing. I don’t know where Bristle was during all this time or when she showed back up on the home or public scene.
All I do know is a pathological lair knows instinctively how to do it well and skilled at how to plot….. I don’t trust her, not one little grain of sand. This is like crazy afternoon soap crap, can’t tolerate that stuff either.

And yes, Bible Spice has had her eye on the VP job since last summer. It’s been written about over & over that she’s been vying for the position since the cruise season of 2007. That being the case, a pregnant teenage daughter in the midst of that would require some creative cover-up. Which could be what we’ve seen/heard. Not a great job, the flying while water broken story is not very credible to me. Either is a 5-month case of mono.

Please don’t spread untruths about Down Syndrome. It is not caused by anything that the mother or father do or don’t do. It is one of those crazy things that happens in genetics when chromosomes divide and create an extra one. Do NOT blame the parents. It is no one’s fault that a child is born with DS. That is way outdated and wrong information. Please do not spread that around. Religious folks tend to say things like, “God blessed you with this child”. Skeptics just figure, “ya know this is how evolution works. It’s just the luck of the draw.” Either way, it is out of our human hands. What is in our hands is how we treat those with DS or other special needs in our community. SP doesn’t have a great track record – for example she cut funding for Special Olympics. But please don’t blame the parents of Trig – whoever they are. Regardless, he’s stuck with them, and for his sake I hope they are doing all they can with Early Intervention to help him be as successful as his abilities will allow him to be.

On Monday night, local pollster Ivan Moore said that he didn’t think Stevens had a “chance in hell” of winning the race. He said that Ted’s rock-solid base, the people who will vote for him no matter what, accounts for about 35-40% of Alaska’s populace. Given this poll, it seems he might have underplayed that base somewhat.

hello fellow voters…
hubby and i just returned from our four hour voting adventure here in los angeles. it is really astonishing that in a county of millions of peeps, that there is but one early voting site.
so we got up at six to head out to the site twenty miles away. we arrived a bit before 8 when the offices were to be open. thankfully, the line was only about 200 strong.
the television vans were lined up down the block waiting for what are certain to be record turnouts later in the day. i was interviewed about my reasons for voting early (need to travel this weekend to swing state for voter protection work).
all-in-all, it was a marvelous experience getting to know all the folks waiting with us. and i’ve learned a code word for “i’m a democrat and voting for that one”…. you know you’re in friendly territory when the person with whom you’re conversing says, “it’s a historical election, isn’t it”. this comment is followed by knowing smiles and bright shiny eyes.
i now have my “i voted” sticker which i will adhere with permanent glue to my favorite sweater and wear forever and ever in celebration of this election.
To knife pile palin – I didn’t mean to sound angry at you, if I did I’m sorry. I have a daughter with DS, and it still cuts to close to my heart to hear inaccuracies spread about how DS happens. I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by your comment. Having DS is like having blue eyes. It’s just part of your genetic makeup. 🙂
My heart just goes out to little Trig. It’s not easy to have a disability, but with a loving family anything is possible. I just don’t see that happening with Sarah. My daughter has brought unbelievable love, joy and magic to our family. She is teaching 3 super type A people (me, my husband and our son) how to enjoy the slower road. It’s a great trip and we are so greatful to share it with her.

John mcloser pandered to women by selecting barbie. he figured, incorrectly, that women would flock in droves to him, regardless of the qualifications of his selection as long as it was a woman.
clearly that theory failed and as more women realize she’s a walking/talking/real life action doll, but not much else, the results was a mass exodus for woman away from mcloser, in a large part because of barbie.
the whole election has been a tale of two ideologies.. one based on information, policy, plans and confidence. The other is one based on no vision, terror, worry, ugly deceit and the scam of a woman.
Obama will win, simply because he’s the better choice and has vision to help heal the country. Mcloser has nothing to offer.

There is something really inherently unfair to have one polling place, making it inaccessible to thousands or millions of people without transportation.

I think the issue may be that there are other diagnoses that can look similar to Down’s Syndrome that are more likely to occur in younger mothers, particularly if they are suspected/known to be partiers. I have no clue if the diagnosis is confirmed, other than what SWWNBN has said. Additionally, since more women under 40 have babies than those over 40, there are more actual babies with DS born to younger women than to those over 40. It’s just that the percentage of DS babies to non-Ds babies is higher in older mothers.

Ak da fool- I must disagree with you. I have stated in several posts that I am a lifelong Republican and I am also the same age as McCain. When Palin was announced as McCain’s VP pick I had never heard of her. I try to be an informed voter so I did a Internet search for information about her. Within 6 hours I knew enough to know that I definitely didn’t want this woman as my Vice-President. McCain’s age (my age) also influenced my decision to support Obama. I shudder to think that Palin could become President with the sudden death of McCain. Others on this site won’t discuss Palin’s apparent pregnancy coverup but I will; I’m not that nice. Please go to http://www.plaindeception.com. This is a Republican doctor and wife (midwife) that have created a website about the Palin pregnancy or non-pregnancy. It raises many serious questions that Palin could easily put to rest if she wanted. I thoughts are; if she would lie about this what else would she lie about?

I just love the web and Mudflats. I opened my email, got the notice from “Real Women”, then checked in here and am right now this moment listening to the women of american speak against SP as I type! Life is so amazing and so are all of you gals and guys!

I’m working on turning out the vote in ID, but you can get a list for any state, on the Obama website. Spend as much or as littel time as you like. And do it right at home. I understand where you are coming from; I was raised in Red Nebraska by Republican parents, and they would have been appalled by this campaign, and the party’s swing to the right. It’s not just Sarah Palin- well, it is her- but the tone, the lies, the old policies. I may be AARP, but I strongly believe the country need to move into the future.

Too bad that we can’t round up enough money to have this on all the news outlets. They are truly women who have struggled for women’s rights. And to have Sarah running for VP , to tear down what has been achieved, is unexceptable. I don’t know if I can find the right words to describe a person like her. She has such a disorted view on everything democratic. I look at myself as an equal to my husband. I am an elderly woman who worked when it was not the popular thing to do. After World War II, women were told it was time to go back home—have kids, cook, and clean their house. But it was o.k. that they worked during the War in factories to keep the war going, while husbands and brothers went off to War. Well——we are NOT second class citizens. We are just as American as Apple Pie—and Proud to be Americans.

The above is the latest Cajun Boy stuff that started early this morning. It’s gotten a bit hairy. I talked to the Sr. VP & Editor of the ADN who categorically denied the story existed (after I sent a flurry of emails, you bet!). I think the issue may be that there are other diagnoses that can look similar to Down’s Syndrome that are more likely to occur in younger mothers, particularly if they are suspected/known to be partiers. I have no clue if the diagnosis is confirmed, other than what SWWNBN has said. Additionally, since more women under 40 have babies than those over 40, there are more actual babies with DS born to younger women than to those over 40. It’s just that the percentage of DS babies to non-Ds babies is higher in older mothers

Cali: If you look at Cajun’s latest post & also the post on Mudflats from earlier this morning, there was quite a flurry of activity. I sent a flood of emails myself & then spoke to Pat Dougherty, the Senior VP & Editor of ADN (I also spoke to the communications director of McClatchy, ADN’s owner), who categorically denied the existence of any “Palin expose” Never did I mention a ‘Trig’ angle or “medical records” or anything. My emails simply said: “If you have any evidence of further deception/dishonesty on Palin’s behalf you owe it to the electorate…..”
Anyway, quite a busy day! Your idea of having Maddow check into the validity of a story is spot-on… Go, girl!

Not to dampen anyone’s curiosity about getting to the bottom of this story but realistically, neither Maddow nor Olberman is likely to take it on at this point.
There are four days left till voting starts. They and their producers are booking guests, preparing for election night coverage, researching stories that they have come up with, doing interviews, appearing on other shows, etc.
It would basically be impossible for them to dive into this story cold at this point and accomplish anything in the short time left before Tuesday. The two sites that have been referenced have had people working on this almost non-stop for weeks and can’t prove anything yet.
I’m sure Keith and Rachel will do us proud in the next four days but don’t except them to take this one on.

I just read on WaPo that both VA and MD are going to revert to paper ballots after this election. VA is going to do it gradually as the electronic machines wear out. It also said that in Fairfax they’ve been offering paper ballots to those who prefer them.
I’ve never had a problem with the electronic machines we have here, but it is troubling that there’s no paper trail, and hence no possibility for a manual recount.
I just saw the public denial from ADN…? I guess CB will have to reveal his sources?

The poll will be reported on PBS and picked up by mainstream media. It can influence undecided voters in swing states.

I watched Obama’s entire “commercial” and was extremely impressed .
I’m sick and tired of the same old nonsense.
It really is time for a change and you just get the feeling that Obama really wants to make a change for the better for working folks..the 95% of us.
It’s OUR turn for “bail out” for attention..to work to lower insurance premiums that the Health Insurance companies are always looking for reasons to raise rates and not cover anything.
This Republican has decided to give the guy a chance . He is a Family man that clearly loves and respects his wife and kids and wants the best for them and I believe he is sincere that he wants to give the working class a break..that he will actually work to that end..that’s why I will give Obama my vote

When troopergate was happening on the 10th of October at the statehouse, I had e-mailed Cajun Boy a life feed. He mailed back saying that he was getting live text messages from a reporter friend who was sitting in the hallway.
So, I do believe he has a real source on the inside. He has made references to this individual many times.

I am a mother of 4 children, each time I gave birth my labor got easier. When you have children, the less time you stay in labor! Palin had “5” children, and do you really think she would have stayed in labor that long? Ask any OB/GYN about the labor duration when a person give multiple births.
I know our bodies are different, but come on people!
I also breat fed my last child, and my breast got bigger, and they often got bigger when I didn’t pump the breast milk out.

Two points on the ADN story story, Cajun boy is reporting second hand that his friend, a reporter has a story the friend wants published in ADN. Both he and the friend may be so eager to get it published there that they overrate its actual reliability – whether there is hard documentation to support it or just assertions by individuals. If his friend had a really solid story simply wanted to get the story out there are many other alternative media routes, as Newsweek reporters found in breaking the Lewinsky story to the Drudge report.
The second point is: it’s important to remember that while MCCain will know he’s finished when he wakes up on Wednesday morning. SP will be waking to what she will see as a whole new world of opportunities. The people at ADN must be well aware of this and of the need to deal with her on her return. If they do sense there may be a story they may well want to hold it in reserve until it’s fully fleshed out and they really need it. At this late point in the campaign one more vice-presidential candidate story would only be icing on a very heavily loaded cake. On the other hand, it might have great importance in the soul-searching and decision making that Alaskans will be undertaking after the election when they have to deal with a totally reconfigured political landscape. Things will probably get pretty ugly just as Winter really sets in.

In the fall of 2007, McCain opted into the public financing system for the GOP primaries, which meant he’d later receive just over $5 million in public funds in exchange for agreeing to a fundraising limit of around $54 million for the entire primary process, which ends when he accepts the nomination at the Republican National Convention in September.
By late November, his campaign was practically broke, so McCain took out a pair of $1 million loans, using the public funds he would receive as collateral.
Cut to Super Tuesday, when McCain had the Republican nomination all but wrapped up. Suddenly, he didn’t want to be bound by that $54 million limit, so his campaign did a 180 and opted back out of the public financing system.
But as David Mason, the Republican-appointed chair of the FEC, has pointed out, you can’t just unilaterally opt out — especially after securing a loan based on having opted in. The response of the McCain campaign is quite simply to ignore Mason. And because the FEC currently lacks a quorum (thanks to stalling tactics by that human roadblock to reform, Mitch McConnell) that’s where things stand, pending a ruling on a lawsuit filed by the DNC.
Having spent 20+ years working with folks with a variety of disabilities, I can tell you that some syndromes are (partially) detectable, visually. It doesn’t tell the whole story, though. There is a certain look to Down Syndrome, often, but it still varies in degree. Everyone is different. Kids with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome also have a certain look (that is NOT at all similar to Trig’s look, from what I can see) and a few other syndromes, too. And while there are certainly behaviors that pregnant women can hurt their children with, there is no way to know if that’s the case without a LOT of medical history. And the doctors aren’t always so hot, either. Took quite a while before they admitted that autism was NOT the result of “cold, rejecting” mothers. I wouldn’t speculate about other folks’ children, in that regard.

You are right about one thing, however. Women have been fighting for the right to ascend to prominence, whether they are competent are not, just like men. And Sarah Palin has proven beyond any doubt that she’s just as incompetent as many men in politics.
The only reason women are making a point of speaking out against Sarah Palin is because John McCain thought that by picking a woman as his VP, he would automatically appeal to ALL women. That’s still the kind of foolishness that women must work to overcome.

the human body is a great gift from God and should be honored as such. Not just a shell that “you” can do anything you want with. Just think about it. And as far as Iraqis are concerned, I’m not sure how I feel about all that but I sure would like for women who think that Palin is the devil would have stand up and condemn the non-existance of a woman’s rights in Iraq. Just want you to be consistant.
