Okay, funnest thing ever happened and I just had to share with some of my fav people in the world. So I have been tracking that girl who faked being assaulted since yesterday. I first read the condemning article against Drudge on Huff, then looked up the post on Drudge itself. At first, I was deeply disturbed about the whole thing and what could result from it. The refusing medical attention part seemed weird to me, but I was willing to go along and be sympathetic. Then I saw the picture and was confused on how shallow the B was. Once I started reading the comments I realized most people weren’t buying it. I even checked in with Fixed News (Of course they had it, the other news channels knew not to touch it with a ten foot pole, reporters instinct anyone) and there bloggers were skeptical as well. Anyhow, once it all came out today, I was glad to know our instinct was right and her story will amount to nothing more than getting the help she obviously needs. Story over, right?
Well, not so fast. My bro just called and in ironies of ironies, he just informed me that he dated this girl in high school for one week. Apparently, that was about the time it took him to realize the girl was crazy so he broke-up with her. She apparently was a debater at our sister school in my hometown. I just couldn’t help but laugh and laugh. I have spent more time than I can tell u tracking this election and it was so weird to have one of the stories personally touch my life, albeit in a small way.
This really is a small world, and this really is the weirdest election on record.
This is definitely the weirdest election I can recall – and I’ve been of voting age for almost two decades!

I was just reading some of the conservative blogs, and a few posters were noting that the B was backwards, so they wondered early on if it was a fake, as it was obvious she did it while looking in a mirror.
It made me realize she was not just nutty, but a bit stupid. If she wanted to blame an Obama supporter…She should have gone for the O instead of the B!

Brian Williams interviewed Caribou Barbie tonight on the evening news. When asked what untrue things have been said and would she like to correct—she couldn’t give him an answer. Of course she would have to tell another LIE!!!!There was a good ad on our local TV station. A Moose was talking about Palin. And it ended with the moose saying—-I should know!!!!!!! Very clever.

Some of us already have, and for those who live in states with early voting, please consider voting early as the campaign has asked us to do. It feels a little strange, and I didn’t get the “I loved” sticker, but I voted and there is one for sure for a straight demo ticket ( I don’t think I have ever voted a straight ticket before, but I am getting older and my memory is going 🙂 ) from this generally red state.

He is pure statistical analysis of all the stats. Yesterday he had a great article debunking those other polls showing McCain advancing.
He even has a “win percentage” for the race. Like in baseball. Obama’s is 94.9 right now. It wavers a little each day – was higher yesterday. But it hasn’t been below 90% since I have been watching it.
Of course – we still need ALL the Obama supporters to vote and get their vote counted. But the statistics are with us.

Regarding Hillary supporters turning to McCain – I think the conventional wisdom on that right now is that most have converted to Obama. Polls show Dems supporting Obama in numbers at least as high as Republicans supporting McCain. As Bec said – the numbers are with us.
Of course, Nebraska Native is also right – we need to keep working for Obama to make sure this really happens.
Where I live in Northern Virginia we’re having a city-wide canvass on Sunday and they’re expecting around 200 volunteers! We may not be the “real” Virginia but we are gonna turn VA blue for Barack!
PS – Nebraska Native – I voted in VA today and they did give out stickers. I wonder why you didn’t get one in Nebraska?

Mudflatters who are getting nervous. Take a breath. We have a week and a half left and everyone has to keep cool.
The craziness from the other side will only accellerate. That dispicable Brad Blakeman yesterday who said that Obama was “going home to see Gramma” at great expense to his contributors and “Should have humped his bags on a comercial flight” to Hawaii is a sick and desperate person. And is put out there as a Republican spokesperson.
The greatest thing that has marked Obama’s campaign in the past two years is his incredible steady, calm and self-assured approach to the malstrom that has whirrled around him.
He resisted the bait in going after Hillary and has done it again with McCain. From day one he and the campaign have known what they wanted to do and then went out and did it. Day by day. Step by step.
Keep the faith that they have the next 10 days under control and a legion of people on the ground on Election Day to fight suppression and get out the vote.
We can’t let our guard down but it’s improtant to keep positive.
Call a friend. Take somebody to the poll. Schlep to Florida. Redouble your efforts. But keep positive.
It’s within our grasp. Be Positive and good things are likely to happen.

I think very few real Hillary supporters will go for someone who spends $150,000 on clothes and $22,000 on a make-up artist. BTW the make-up artist is now McCain’s highest paid staff person. I just don’t see blue collar workers buying into it. I do see the media hyping the contest – it keeps ratings up and thus their incomes.

Speaking of pie crusts – I just went verklept thinking of my Democrat grandmother from Decatur, IL who was a poll worker into her ninties, had Democrat handtowels in her powder room, and made fantastic pie crust. Where ever we lived in the midwest, when she came to visit for a couple weeks, she would stock our deep freeze with her lucious pie crusts and we’d enjoy them for months. Oh how I’d love a slice on her key lime pie right now! (As my frozen pizza crumbs fall into my keyboard).

Today we went to the eye doctor and were assured in good health (we can read the small print on the ballot). Then we studied the Lonnnnnggggg Colorado ballot one last time before mozying over to the polling place at our library. There were more people in library than voting so it didn’t take long. People were very friendly and upbeat. Not crowded but a steady stream of people voting. Most people were still at work.
Meanwhile one of our Obama/Biden yard signs vanished but one popped up over at a neighbor on the other side of our Repub neighbor. Now it’s a repub sandwich.
Got an email from my brother (misguided I think) with an article by a self proclaimed Democrat, Orson Scott Card (ironically, he is mostly known for writing fiction). He rants on and on about how the present economic situation is the fault of democrats and poor stupid people who took out loans with FM and FM.
I pointed to the testimony of Greenspan yesterday before Congress and the statement by a McCain surrogate today about war with Iran. As I said sometimes just the right people show up to prove your point.

I have to share – one of my best friends – we don’t talk politics usually. She called yesterday. THEY are for Obama, and so are her kids. I know we are Illinois and BLUE – but this represents the “people who really think about it, can’t take Palin, and go Dem, and where they may never have gone before.” I’m really excited.
Something been bugging me about the whole clothes thing. I recall way back when SP came on to the scene I read somewhere that the McCain campaign gave her a credit card of her very own. Yet here this Larson guy went and bought $137K of clothes himself and was reimbursed by the campaign. This was how they found out about it.
My question is, what is Palin charging on that credit card she got from McCain at the beginning because obviously it wasn’t clothes.

I had an odd incident early happen to me here this morning here at the Pittburgh International airport.
Some crazed woman with rectangular glasses spotted my Obama shirt and attacked me.
She held a moose gun to me and wrote a backwards S on my left cheek and a backwards P on my right cheek. Then she muddered something about fruitflies and released me.
I am not sure what that was about.
So I just checked in on the St Louis Blues Hockey game. And she seems to have cursed them too. She did not get as many boos there as she did in Philly. But when the team was coming out the goalie fell because of the carpet that was there for her that they are not used to having in their way. He ended up having to come out in the second period and so now they have their rookie in. And they are losing!!! Seriously I am not making this up. Wow!
Almost forgot, she wrote it with lipstick. Strange.

Well, “Mr. I have 7 houses and 13 cars” obviously doesn’t find it odd to spend $150,000 on clothes. My friends, further evidence that Mr. McBush is out of touch. Are we watching a bad movie?
Regarding Lulu’s post above – I suspect she is right and all I can say, thank goodness we are really in the home stretch now! We can make it if we stick together!

Eyes Wide Open, I really can’t figure out why McLame is spending money in PA. He hasn’t had a lead in PA since April. If they are spending their precious resources on designer clothes and a state that Obama has a double digit lead in, I think it’s a good sign.
Chuck Todd says they’re going after PA because of the older white voters there. McLame thinks he can get the Philly suburbs.

They are saying that they registered in Ohio at the addresses they are staying and have voted. They did show a young man apologizing and saying that he didn’t understand the residency requirement. Thats all I have heard and of course it was on faux news.
