Health Questions here:
Did I hear corecctly that Palin has a tanning bed in her home and is used to treat her ‘Cinical Depression’? Any truth to this. If she does have CD then she must be taking anti-depressents. She’s going to need them to get thru the rest of these 49 days. Furthermore, she should talk to McCain about his melenoma and from what I understand, the UV’s are very dangerous.
Also during a recent broadcast on ABC? (not sure) about Commnity Service etc. McCain/Obama forum, McCain made a noticeable remark about and then poked at his very enlarged lymph gland. This genereally means, and correct me if I’m wrong, any doctor’s in the house, that your system is fighting something. Considering he is a 4 time cancer survivor and POW, this certainly gives one cause if he will be able to finish a term, God forbid and gasp I cannot even write the rest of this sentence.
Wasn’t there a previous Democratic candidate I think VP years ago that got run out of the campaign by the Rep and stepped down from running?
Love to hear from some Dr’s on this.

Please go to the link and send to John McCain

A link to send a letter to John McCain about the tactics the Republican’s are trying to use in Michigan.

http://colorofchange.org/michigan08/?id=1759-202929

Dear Senator John McCain and RNC Chairman Robert M. Duncan,
I just learned that Republicans in Michigan are planning to use foreclosure lists to keep struggling homeowners from voting, and I’m outraged. You stand to benefit from these practices and have been completely silent. This is simply unacceptable.

This strategy is cruel — kicking those hardest hit by the economy while they’re down — and it is also illegal. As the leaders of the Republican Party, you have a responsibility to stop these illegal voter suppression tactics in Michigan first, but also across the country.

I’m calling on you to publicly denounce the use of foreclosure lists as a basis for challenging voters and demand that local, state and national Republican party leaders forbid this illegal and shameful strategy.

It would be very hard to believe that that swelling on the left side of McCain’s face is a lymph node and nobody has checked it out yet. But stranger things are happening these days.

A lymph node that large is NOT a good sign of any kind. At the very least it means a serious infection. The last time I had a node that swollen I had a very bad case of the mumps.

It is just crazy for someone with McCain’s health history to be running for president. No wonder the conservative elite is starting to jump ship on him.

Love it:

Just hours after news reports questioned Sarah Palin’s use of Yahoo Mail for official business, a group of hackers claims to have broken into her account.

The group, known simply as “Anonymous,” sent screenshots appearing to be from gov.palin@yahoo.com to leaked document site WikiLeaks, where they were published Wednesday morning (a screen shot of the WikiLeaks’s Palin Webpage can be found here). The images show an e-mail exchange with Alaska’s lieutenant governor in which Palin seemingly complains about a local radio host being “inconsistent and purposefully misleading,” as well as an exchange with an advisory board member who appears to reassure Palin about the recent wave of negative press. A list of contacts and a couple of family photos (see below) are also included in the published materials.

“This is a shocking invasion of the governor’s privacy and a violation of law,” McCain-Palin Campaign Manager Rick Davis said in a statement Wednesday evening. “The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these emails will destroy them.”

Destroy them? Too late, asshat.

Did not SEE the Hannity chat but I did read excerpt of it. It is even more obvious when reading the written words how poorly she speaks. Her sentences are so full of unnecessary words- meant to distract from the fact that she often does not really know what she is saying. Wow. Even playing softball her answers are not informative or insightful. I think she is used to fooling people, especially because she uses her nonverbal communication to boost her message (looks, smile, eye contact). Did anyone else hear a blurb from Monday’s stump speech when she said this financial market situation needed some “real fixin’ ” ??? How cute and folksy can she be out there on the stump?
The Daily Kos article about her story regarding asking her kids how they felt about her taking on this VEEP nominee role- It strikes me that she is used to telling her made-up version of reality so often that she forgets what she has said before. That is really very troubling…really very troubling.

What Sarah Palin said on Fox News tonight about informing her kids about her VP pick is directly opposite of what her husband said on Fox News just last night!!! Todd Palin said Sarah was already out of the state when he found out.

Once he knew, he took the kids’ phones away, told them they were going on a secret trip for their wedding anniversary and put them all on a private plane headed somewhere that he didn’t even know….

When exactly did the daughters vote on Sarah being VP? After they all got to Ohio where she was introduced to the world and had already accepted the VP spot? Poor Britol Palin really voted to become the target of tabloid rumors and forced into a shotgun wedding like her own parents?

Just talked to KUDO. They said they’re not making transcripts available, but that it should be available online within a couple of days. OK. That means I need to start writing down what I remember.

I’m paraphrasing here, but these are the main ideas I remember:

–The McCain-Palin campaign’s takeover, speaking for Alaska’s government, is a states’ rights issue.

–The McCain-Palin campaign’s stonewalling of a bipartisan legislative investigation is creating a constitutional crisis within our state.

–Sen. Green is very, very grieved.

–Sen. Green said something like this: As a Republican, she wishes that there had been deep investigative work done [by McCain] before reporters around the world did that work.

I WAS thinking the other day that if anyone in American political history could pull off a fascist coup, it is Sarah Palin. She fits the Mencken prophecy perfectly, i.e., when fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross. Plus Hitler took over when his superannuated # 1 passed away.

Hubris is never, ever a good idea but Obama looked pretty confident today and I like to think for good reason. But that is just my idle thought.

Reminder: We Dems can’t take anything for granted. Remember the 2000 Presidential election? Ugh – never again.

It is vital to get large numbers of people registered to vote, especially in swing states.

And if you can, travel to a swing state and get involved with voter reg drives and meet cool people who want REAL change for America!

We need to thump McCain/Palin. Really thump them. It really is important for everyone’s future that they do not win. Take nothing for granted. Nothing. Don’t count on someone else to do the work. We’re all in this together.

Yes We Can – and we must.

People still watch Fox News? Come on… yer brighter than that!

What is Fox (faux) News? It is an anti-American advertising agency run by that foreigner, Rupert Murdoch. It is his way of using his money to influence politics in this country. Hate to sound like Nancy Reagan but I am going to just say “NO!!!!!” to Rupert Murdoch. But I am sorely tempted to create a catalogue of companies that advertise on that channel.

And there’s one other thing… since faux news is so biased, I think they ought to report the value of their shilling to the Federal Election Commission.

After watching Hannity and Rove’s shock, shock, I tell you, at the news Palin’s Yahoo email acc’t was hacked it hit me. It has “Karl Rove” written all over it. He hires somebody to get to her email using the clever monicker “anonymous”, blames the opposition or people like them, oh, the outrage. But it’s too late. Some compromising stuff makes itself known. It’s so hot McCain is forced to (with regret) drop her like a hot potato. Who is standing in the wings but Mitt Romney. Karl’s boy-o and dream veep. Just a thought: Perhaps we are doing just exactly what they want us to do. With the help of AKM and others (like the rest of us) we have got the whole country watching the drama unfold in Alaska, now, I’m not blaming Mudflats, hell, I just gave her a donation this morning to help her keep doing what she is doing, getting the truth and reporting it, but it just occurred to me that perhaps the GOP wants the whole country to concentrate on Alaska during these last few weeks before the election. Alaska is a sparsley populated state with a total population that is less than many cities. Alaska can not make or break the election and they know it, so while we are all concentrating on Alaska, they are hard at work in other states (especially Ohio, the make or break state) eliminating voters, threatening others with arrest and giving out false information on polling locations. Not to mention eliminating voters who are being foreclosed on (and foreclosure numbers are at a record high right now) and even eliminating soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan from the rolls for not having a valid US address.
So while I still support AKM and Mudflats to the fullest, and this is still my favorite site for everything Palin, I’m beginning to think that perhaps a few of us should branch out and start getting the dirt on whats going on around the rest of the country while the whole world is paying attention to Alaska, Troopergate and Palin. The GOP is working hard to steal this election because they know they can’t win it, they stole it before and they know how to do it, we need to get the people in place and the information out if we are going to be able to keep them from stealing it again.

An excerpt from Palin’s interview with Sean Hannity tonight:

On if there should be an investigation on relationships between political donations from Fannie and Freddie Mac and the bankruptcy and its impact on the economy:

“I think that’s significant, but even more significant is the role that the lobbyists play in an issue like this also. And in that cronyism — it’s symptomatic of the grade of problem that we see right now in Washington and that is just that acceptance of the status quo, the politics as usual, the cronyism that has been allowed to be accepted and then it leads us to a position like we are today with so much collapse on Wall Street. That’s the reform that we’ve got to get in there and make sure that this happens. We’ve got to put government and these regulatory agencies back on the side of the people.”

Swineprincess,, you got that one right, I’ve been all over the web and the majority of the sites have people that run from somewhat intelligent to just downright stupid, with a fair number of trolls and parodies thrown in. But when you read the comments here you get the feeling that you are in the midst of some of the best minds in America, and I feel honored just being able to talk with many of them. From this site alone we should be able to put together an “ARMY” of thorough, hardworking and intelligent investigators to get to the truth of ALL of their dirty tactics and plans and expose them to the whole country. But we only have a few weeks left to do it. I am going to link Mudflats to everyone I talk to and to every site I visit, then I am going to infiltrate every conservative site I can find (parodies excluded, of course) and inject them with some documented and verified facts, (not just on Palin, but on the GOP itself) whether or not they want to believe them, they will be forced to at least acknowledge them. Sometimes a little doubt can go a long way.

Plwalsh, the results were contested in 2004, and the Secretary of state in Ohio was named in a federal suit in connection with voter tampering, and in 2006 a Judge ordered that all materials pertaining to the election be preserved for evidence, those documents were all destroyed illegally right after the Judges order to preserve them was made, so there is no evidence left now to contest the election itself. Two things:

1. If the election has “the signs” of being “stolen”, there will be Democrats and independent observers making the case. However, since many would undoubtedly feel this wasn’t the first time an election had been “stolen”, I’d suggest that a mass objection by the disenfranchised voters be prepared to contact any and all of their state representatives, for starters. If the resolve is pushed and the election is widely perceived to be “stolen”, and the swearing-in occurs, the mass objection could then take the form of a call for impeachment campaign.

2. Folks could focus on particular states’ election developments and/or there could dedicated state threads to follow any noteworthy events.

Vigilance is good, panic or similar is not.

Tonight’s interview with Sean Hannity:

NBC in the cold, huh? At least they won’t taint themselves. I’m expecting the Couric interview to be a puff piece. Let Barbara Walters have a shot at her and rip her to shreds.

The whole e-mail thing sounds like one bug conspiracy, if you ask me. It’s just too convenient that it’s coming up now.

And people in this country don’t see through all of this?

Gee, this Palin woman’s got more drama than any other candidate I ever seen on national television. This is so bizarrrrr, it’s like watching a soap opera or something. I just hope the Republicans loose the election this year, I’ve had enough of this McSame/Palin drama thing. They’re starting to annoy me with all their lies and drama after drama. What else is new?

I hate Fox New channel, it’s so obvious they only endorse McCain and not Obama. They like to twist things around to make Obama as wrong for the country and McCain right for our country. That is why I refuse to watch their show and give them more viewers. Instead I rather watch MSNBC and CNN. At least CNN is more honest and trustworthy. I like MSNBC because I like Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermen and Rechel Maddow who can be tough on issues with interviewers. I thought the interview Palin had with Colmes or Hannity was too easy of a pass. Not enough tough questions coming from them. But then again I’m not suprise giving the fact that Colmes or Hannity one of them is a die hard supporter of McCain/Palin lol.

[[[I wish they would stop throwing punches at each other and just tell Americans the truth about this disasterous economy, how it’s ultimately going to affect us, and what it’s going to take to get us out of this mess…]]]

Obama has released a very good video about the stock-market crisis and our economy, and his plans to address the shambles 8 years of Bush Jr have left both in.

In the video, he shows that he will be the kind of president Americans need in a crisis. He is calm and reassuring, but he doesn’t pull punches: he describes the problems we are facing. He then goes on to describe his plan to deal with it, and he ends by giving us hope that we, as Americans, can do the elements of his plan and that we will succeed.

It’s not an attack ad against McCain. It’s a statement of his plans to lead us out of this mess.

Vena, I don’t watch Fox News because it is nothing but a propaganda front for the neocon leadership in our country.

I believe that when we watch or read something, even if we are telling us all the while that it is complete and utter bullshit, that our brain is also subtly programmed to keep this propaganda in our cerebral database. THis information changes how we see the world.

There is a famous study done in the 1960s about subliminal messages embedded in a movie shown at a theater increasing the popcorn sales…this particular study has been proven to be invalid and the researcher’s reputation was destroyed.

But that doesn’t mean that subliminal advertising doesn’t work.

Advertisers go to tremendous lengths to use subliminal advertising. A few years back alcohol advertisers would place subliminal pictures of naked women in the ice cubes of the drinks they pictured in advertisements. It was very obvious and, once called on it, it largely stopped.

This is only one type of subliminal message placement, but the fact that advertisers continue to do it, IMO, indicates that it works.

The brain stores information in different ways and these different ways impact how the entire experience is recalled later. The actual objective details of what happened are stored but so are the emotions that are attached to the experience, and the overall impression of the experience may be recalled inaccurately later.

I know we have to be informed of the opposition, but I don’t want to be programmed by Fox News: overtly, subliminally, or any other way.

So I don’t watch it. I can get enough to be aware of the propaganda being put out by American’s neocon leadership by watching other shows and listening to progerssive radio, so as to be able to track these propaganda messages as they are spread across America. I believe this is an important application because it shows how diverse groups of people react to neocon propaganda, and how different groups will react more strongly to one propaganda message than another.

But to allow Fox News direct acces to my brain for more than a few minutes each day–no way.

Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

Okay, this is sick and wrong …
some guy who is going to give all dems a bad name not only called Bristol Palin’s published phone # (part of the email leaks on Gawker,) but called her repeatedly and said some pretty nasty things …

And the reason why you think this guy is a dem is…… Did he call her and say “I’m a Democrat and…..”

ALL mainsteam media outlets are mouthpieces disseminating government propaganda. However Faux is one of the worst and probably the most blatant on television.

To hone your critical thinking skills, turn off the Boob Tube and the radio for about two weeks. READ BOOKS and on-line news from alternative (but reputable) sources. You’ll be amazed at the difference….

i seriously think that many of the attacks on Palin, particularly the more unusual ones, are planted by Rove, et al, to make her a martyr and to make the Dems look like they are atacking “that po’ lil’ girl from Alaska” and get the sympathy vote! Particularly the hi-jacking of her e-mail. I strongly suspect the e-mail was sanitized prior to the hi-jacking. These folks want to hi-jack the entire election! My God, Cnn is going to interview Donald Trump! URGH! Blitzer!
